about

This album is inspired by characters from the novel, "Underlords of the Overworld: Travelers in Time," by H. Prescott Lemon. The novel can be purchased from Amazon.

Album Notes:

A drum set is a band's time machine, and its drummer is its captain. And it’s really difficult to find the right drummer. In short (to spare you time), finding a drummer can, um, take a lot of time. And most of the time, musicians looking for a drummer fail in their quest. This problem has plagued the Underlords for … a long time. In their formative years they played with a John, two different Steves, a Ryan, and a session drummer named Ky.

Time passed, and when they resumed, they played with a drummer named Andy and a third Steve. They also courted a drummer named Trent, who passed on them, and eventually found a drummer named Larry. After some time Larry left. It seemed they had spent their lives traversing space and time to find a drummer, to no avail.
With no drummer to keep time, and plenty of time on their hands, their official biographer, H. P. Lemon, took it upon himself to craft a story of musicians searching through space and time to find the perfect drummer. The tale he crafted was so outlandish and bizarre that the Underlords took it upon themselves to write instrumental music inspired by the story’s characters.

The only problem was ... they didn't have a drummer. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, another new drummer, yo! A second Andy makes drummer #10. But who's counting? The album took a long time to record; the final masters were finished several years after initial recording began. That's a lot of time. But in the end, the final product, we feel, is worth your time, as is H. P. Lemon's fine novel of the same name. And if you've read these notes this far, thank you for taking your time, and we hope you'll take the time to journey on the musical voyage contained within.
